We’re sitting on a mountain of electronic excess. Time to hit the reset button.

Putting the fun back in functional, Restart Parties are popping up across the country.

But instead of bringing booze or munchies, people drag along their clapped-out computer, expired Xbox, broken record player, vacuum cleaner that blows (not in a good way), toaster that’s toast or kettle that’s up the spout, and ask volunteers, can they fix it? More often than not, yes, they can.

The Restart Project sparked to life seven years ago, borne out of frustration about the throwaway culture of the electronics industry.
