We are preparing for the potential of flooding and damage that may be caused by Typhoon Hagupit, which could potentially affect 12million people. Many of the same areas of the Philippines which were devastated by Haiyan are at risk again.
Last year more than 7,000 people lost their lives, and more than 4million people were affected by the strongest typhoon to make land in history. Many of the people that suffered last year are at risk of further devastation now.
Please can you donate £25 today to support our vital work? Our colleagues in the Philippines will be ready to assist those in need.
There is no way of knowing in advance the scale of the eventual of the damage.
What we do know, is how to help people that have lost everything.
Our Habitat Mobile Emergency Response Units (HaMER) which deliver vital equipment, suppliers and staff, are ready to assist those people in the greatest need.
In response to Haiyan we issued more than 23,000 Shelter Repair Kits and, as you may know, our work in the Philippines from 2013 is still ongoing. We have built 47 new houses to date with another 527 planned.
We hope that the impact of this typhoon is not as bad as currently feared. Rest assured we will put your donation to work in response to this disaster or where the need is greatest.
