The world stands on the brink of truly historic change. Next week leaders from 193 countries will meet in New York to agree to global goals on the most pressing issues of our time – poverty, inequality and climate change.
Now is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for us to show world leaders that we are prepared to take a stand for the future of people and planet. On 24 September, on the eve of the meeting that could change the world, thousands of global citizens are coming together around the globe but under one sky. This is our chance to make the goals famous.
Do you want to be one of the people who are active in creating history? You can! Register to join global citizens and the Action/2015 coalition on September 24 on the Millennium Bridge in London, and be one of thousands of people holding stars that light the way to a better world. You can be in the unforgettable image that will be printed, framed, and delivered to Downing Street before nightfall.
This is not the time to be a bystander. This is an opportunity to send a powerful message to world leaders that we can’t afford to miss. We can be the generation that ends extreme poverty.
I hope to see you there.
Amy and the Global Citizen Team.
